WCKA AND ALBERTON HIGH SCHOOL
Accredited by the Montana Office of Public Instruction, World Class Kayak Academy is a distance-learning program of Alberton High School and was the first accredited kayak academy. In this partnership, WCKA employs a qualified faculty to develop and teach a curriculum meeting the standards of a reputable college preparatory school. Alberton High School oversees its students' learning at WCKA and supplies the necessary textbooks, counseling, resources, and recordkeeping. In concept, WCKA works as a traveling magnet school; offering a unique, challenging, and diverse education for college bound students with a passion for whitewater kayaking.

WORLD CLASS KAYAK ACADEMY
Enrollment: 12-14 students attending grades 10-12
Average Duration of Attendance: 1 year (ranging from 1-5 semesters)
Student Origins: 55% Mountain, 19% Eastern, 17% Pacific, 6% Central, 2% International
Students on Tuition Scholarship: 2-3/semester
Faculty: 4 and an intern or 5. Faculty includes a full-time head coach, assistant coaches, and a Program Director.
Student-Teacher Ratio: 2.8 to 1 or less
Schedule: Each semester maintains a minimum of 13 academic weeks, not including: field trips, tutorial sessions, study halls, or exams. During an academic week, each class is scheduled to meet for either three 55 minute periods or two 85 minute periods.
Registration: Students are required to register for a minimum of four academic courses each semester. In a question of class availability, registration priority is granted to students with more credits toward graduation.
